Lectio Divina
Sit with the Scriptures.
Read slowly. Notice gently. Listen prayerfully.
What is Lectio Divina?
Lectio Divina means “Divine Reading”. It is an ancient Christian way of praying with Scripture, not to study the Bible more quickly, but to listen more deeply.
Rather than asking “What does this passage mean?”, Lectio gently asks: “What might God be saying to me today through these words?”
How it works
- 1. Read the passage slowly.
- 2. Notice what catches your attention.
- 3. Sit with that sentence.
- 4. Hold one word before God.
- 5. Respond in prayer.
